the shotgun was probably an win 12 or
ithaca m37 or stevens 520, should not have been mossberg then nor rem 870, nor the win 1897 by then either-and i should never have sold my s&w model 10 , really versatile and easy to use

I just ordered mine. Backordered but I'm in no hurry. With my C&R license $67.13 shipped. That works.

I don't have anything I want to put it on yet so will have to fine the correct upper receiver and go from there. I want one without the fba and brass deflector. I doubt if I will be able to find a bolt carrier without the fba notches so may have to live with that. It looks like NoDak Spud has the upper.

Ok after what happened this weekend who knows what lawmakers are going to do or not do in the next few weeks but I decided it might be wise to go ahead and get the serial numbered part for my retro build so I just order this. I'll put together the other parts over time. https://www.brownells.com/rifle-par...er-receiver-sku080-001-304-107496-174441.aspx

Actually I may go with one of these. After doing some more research it seems the early Air Force M 16 604 had chrome BCG. Later they started excepting parkerized 603 BCG with the notches so either would be correct.

That's a lot for a lower, especially a blem, but it will do the job.

That is a lot for a lower but the early style lowers are hard to come by. I could pick up a A2 lower for less than a C note but there are mostly cosmetic differences and I want it as close as possible to a 1967 Air Force rifle. A correct upper will be even harder to find. The Army and Marines went with the M16A1 603 but the Air Force and Navy the M16 604 without forward bolt assist or case deflector so that's what I will need.

Brownells just got the correct 20" pencil barrels with a 1 in 12" twist rate back in stock for $230 so as soon as I can shake some funds loose I'll order one of those.
