At what distance do you start using scope only? I can't seem to get out past 100 yards with a red dot.

Depends on precision shooting or minute of man? You can always look at a prism etched with a lighted reticule
with a 1 to 4 or up to 8 power.
Primary arms has the ASCC reticule. That allows you a CQB sight and the ability to magnify with a range finder and windage dots and a drop compensator out to 600 yards.

I shoot with both eyes open. If you focus on your dominant eye, the other will begin to get fuzzy while your dominant gains focus. I like it for wider field and peripheral vision.

It is odd, I have no issues using both eyes when I am shooting through a Red Dot, I can even do it using the wife's rifle that has a 3x Prism scope. Now when I am shooting Pistols I have a hard time focusing on the sights and I get stress headaches after a short while.

I am cross eye dominant, I have tried everything I read, but nothing seems to help me. So I just squint a little. Seems to work.
