LGS has all Thompson Center Compass rifles for $272, or $358 with a Vortex scope.
That nets out to $197 and $283 after the $75 rebate.

    All calibers.

It seems like a decent price, but I'm hijacking @droopy 's thread to see what others think. I just don't know much about TC rifles.

    Any help?

I own no bolt guns and that needs to be corrected. Is this the way to fix that gaping hole in my arsenal?

Never shot a TC, but I know they make great barrels. That is the main reason Smith and Wesson bought the company.

At that price for the combo you wouldn't be out of pocket bad it it tanked.

    I like t/c . Have a few.

The compass is another variation that has evolved due to poor management in the sales department. One of the reasons they were bought out. This model I believe is post s&w.

Take away this , put on this , hope for the best . Mostly receiver material changes.

That said , they make a straight shooter for sure. These sub rifles we always get a compromise. Usually translates to poor balance and a kick. But the adjustable trigger and sub moa barrels do make for a decent shooter . The barrels as a whole have a longer than most shot life. Venture is free-float , I would assume the compass is also.

I would buy give t/c my first look if I was buying this type of rifle .

    My 2€
